Sustainability:

Us as Cornwall 2 ‘Ere want to ensure that we are doing our utmost to remain sustainable to combat the pollution of our planet. Being from Cornwall, we can see first hand how damaging the use of one time use packaging can be to the environment; so we are putting in certain measures to try and minimise the amount of issues which one time packaging can cause. This is being done by these following actions:

  • Boxes - the boxes which we use to package our products are 100% recyclable and biodegradable so we can ensure that our packaging will not have any long term impacts on the environment.

  •   Shredded ribbed straw - as like the boxes above, this is also 100% recyclable and biodegradable. As we acquire the packaging from the same supplier, we can ensure

our customers that the cushioning inside is corresponding to the outer packaging.

  • Outer ribbon - our aim as a company is to be 100% transparent with our customers. So unfortunately, we cannot guarantee our ribbon which is used on some of our products are 100% and may fall under polyester. In which case it will fall under Polyethylene terephthalate. This means that the ribbon we use will fall under the Recycling code 1 or PET. PET is widely recyclable but is not 100% biodegradable although in the future, we aim to make all our packaging 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

We have seen the devastating scenes first hand on what non recyclable items can do to our wildlife, from the impacts to our picturesque Cornish countryside, to the rare and vulnerable animals which live within this vast vicinity. We really do take for granted the opportunities these landscapes have to offer and with plastic having the impact that it does by not being biodegradable. For instance, PET plastics take over 450 YEARS to decompose. So by the time a water bottle is used once and thrown away, it will take almost 20 generations to decompose. This is why we try to urge recycling waste and why we ensure that we recycle all waste which we have no more need for.
